Rt. Rev Jeremiah Ngumo Kiguru
Dear Organizers, the Leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Facilitators and Panelists, Our Audience, Ladies and gentlemen,
I salute you all in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
On behalf of the Inter-religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), and on behalf of us the invited guests, I take this opportunity to thank the organizers, and our host for this gathering, and in particular, for the theme of this Conference: Strengthening Families.
Strengthening Families is a candid and contextual subject in our modern day society. The objective of Strengthening Families is an enterprise that aims at strengthening the institution of the family, thereby safeguarding the very first institution that God created. The institution of marriage and family is the basic unit of the society, hence when we endeavor to strengthen the family, we are indeed engaging in strengthening our world.
The conference comes at such a very significant time in the world when the very fabric of the institution of marriage and family is in dire need of God’s abundant grace. The institution seems to be tearing from the seams left right and center. Indeed, the institution is in great need of God’s salvation. Time has come when all religious and faith based institutions, should engage in the redemption of the institution of marriage and family.
It is our trust that all the knowledge gained in this Conference, and the ideals espoused, will greatly and positively impact our small worlds, wherever we are, so that our families will be strengthened to reflect God’s design for the family.
May we come out of this Conference, energized as Ambassadors of the Family. Once again, thank you immensely for this Conference.
Blessings upon you all.
